Visit Groton

Groton, New York is a welcoming village in Tompkins County with a rich history, scenic charm, and a strong sense of community at its heart. First settled in the late 1700s and officially incorporated in 1860, Groton grew from a rural settlement into a vibrant village rooted in tradition and community pride.

Located just northeast of Ithaca and west of Cortland, Groton occupies approximately 1.74 square miles and is home to around 2,100 residents. The community blends small-town friendliness with easy access to the outdoor beauty of Central New York, offering a relaxed way of life while supporting local businesses and families.
